Is a nose job painful?

I'm 22 years old, and I want to have a nose job done soon. Is this a painful procedure?

Hello. Actually Rhinoplasty or nose job, barely hurts. Most patients complain about it being sore, and barely take the pain medication prescribed to them. If you have any further questions or inquiries please visit my website at Drroya.com. Good luck!
Nose job surgery is not extremely painful afterwards, and most people describe it as more of a discomfort because of swelling and packing inside the nose. These issues are easily handled with pain medication.
Good luck.
A rhinoplasty (nose job) Should not be a meaningful procedure depending upon the anesthesia used by the surgeon.
You will be sore
The simple answer is ..Yes. You will have what amounts to a broken nose. However, the pain varies with how much work has to be done and this obviously will determine how long the pain lasts. You will have prescriptions for pain medicine and so the experience is usually not too bad.

Hi,

Remarkably, about 90% of people undergoing simple rhinoplasty claim that it is not painful. I routinely prescribe a strong pain medication in case it is needed, but approximately 90% of people say they never took it or only took it the first day. When septal work is performed for a deviated septum, there usually is a packing which does involve more discomfort, usually extreme stuffiness. In some of those cases the patients will often say there was some element of pain. But with routine rhinoplasty, it is surprising that the majority of patients say that it is not painful at all or very minimally so.
I hope this helps you with your decision.

Pain varies from person to person as does the actual procedure which should be formulated for you. It is very important you see a board-certified plastic surgeon. You will be given a pain protocol from your surgeon including medication. Most of my patients are able to handle pain without medications in a few days. The splints are usually removed in a week but the nose remains tender for a few weeks. It really depends on how you as an individual handle pain.
