“Is the cause of ADHD known?”
My son was diagnosed with ADHD, and his doctors offered very little on how it was caused. What causes ADHD in children? Will it go away when he's adult?

There are/is no known definitive cause of ADHD. Many factors have been linked as associated links to ADHD, but trying to link them causally to ADHD has failed. Most young patients with the condition carry many of the same or somewhat altered manifestations in adulthood.
ADHD tends to run in families. It is diagnosed from a variety of symptoms at more than 1 setting usually home and school. The actual gene that may cause it has not been identified. Some children can manage it better as adults. Some adults have to stay on medication to be productive at their jobs.
