Typically, most patients describe their rhinoplasty surgery as discomfort afterwards rather than severe pain. This is usually secondary to swelling and packing inside the nose. In either case, pain medications easily control pain or discomfort after surgery.

Thank you for your question. Just as any other surgical procedure, there will be discomfort after a rhinoplasty. In any case, pain is very subjective, and something that seems painful to a person, it may produce moderate discomfort to another person. This is a topic to discuss with the surgeon prior to surgery, and discuss the type of medication prescribed for post-surgery pain.
