I have knee stiffness on the outside of my right knee after 8 months of having total knee replacement.

Probably scar.Check with your surgeon about rehab,possibly a cortisone injection but need to check about possible infection.
Knee tightness on outside of knee is usually IT band tightness. See your surgeon for evaluation. He/she might prescribe physical therapy.
It can take up to a year for all the stiffness to resolve. It it has slowly improved over time, give it more. If this is new and affecting your daily activities, see your surgeon.
