“After a 10k run, I feel a slight swelling in my knee. What could it be?”
I went for a 10k run yesterday and now I have a slight swelling in my right knee along with a dull pain. Could it just be the exertion from the run or something serious?

Most likely due to overexertion of the soft tissues from the run. If it improves after a couple of days with rest an ice, it's not serious.
It could be a cartilage injury in your knee or a meniscus injury. I recommend seeing an ortho for an X-ray and examination.

If pain and swelling persist, you should see a physician.
Difficult to say, if you are used to running a lot and haven't had these symptoms I would say no, not from exertion. I would start with a period of rest from high impact maybe just cycle over the next wk. Typically swelling in the joint is the body's natural response to lubricate the joint because of something irritating it. Whether that is due to wear and tear, or something more acute such as a meniscal tear. I would say if it keeps happening you should get an X-ray and possibly an MRI. See your Dr if these symptoms persist. In the meantime ice, ace wrap compression, and OTC NSAIDs (i.e. Ibuprofen, aleve) as tolerated.
