“How can I manage my back pain after my surgery?”
I recently had a back surgery for my back pain. I still have a lot of pain, especially when I change my posture. What should I do manage this pain better? Is this normal?

People still feel pain after spine surgery is seen very commonly. With a diagnosis of Failed back surgery syndrome (postlaminectomy syndrome) does not mean the surgeon did not do the good job. The surgery per se could have been done perfectly. However, the patient symptom was not addressed or even worse. There are still many options for patients to get their pain under reasonable controlled, especially with the current technologies. Opioids are no longer recommended as long term pain management for none malignancy pain. Find a local pain management specialist to see what are the options depending on individual patient condition.
