I have missed my period by 1 week. When would be a good time for me to take a pregnancy test?

You can do it now. If it comes back negative and you do not get your period, check it again in a week.
If you have regular monthly menses and are at risk for pregnancy, you should take a test any time you are more than 2-3 days late. Most home tests will be positive within 2 weeks of conception.
Urine pregnancy tests are typically accurate approximately 10 days after conception which normally occurs around day 14 of the cycle in women with regular, monthly cycles.
An over the counter home pregnancy test is advisable now if you have normal cycles.
Go ahead take it.
You should take a pregnancy test as soon as you can. If it’s negative and you still don’t get your period within the next week I would take another test and if it’s still negative, please contact your physician.
