Multiple lymph nodes, weight loss and fatigue?

I am a 24 year old male, I don't smoke or drink. I just wanted to ask does a healthy person have beta 2 microglobulin in their blood? I did that tumor marker and it came back in range 1.60. Is this cause for a concern? I have multiple swollen lymph nodes in my neck for 3 months now. I had ultrasound done last week and the radiologist told me that they are enlarged but benign. That did not put my mind to rest because I know something is not right. I am feeling extremely fatigued all the time and I have lost 5kg in these past 3 months even tho i am eating normally. I tested for Mono and Hiv and both came back negative. I didn't have any flu, cold, teeth problems or virus that can cause my symptoms and enlarged lymph nodes that wont go away for months. I am very scared and i think that this is cancer. Can you suggest me what to do next? Should I go to the hematologist?
Thank you.

To answer your first question, people without cancer express beta-2-microglobulin (B2M) in their blood. To answer your second question, if you are concerned about your lymph nodes, then yes you should see a Hematologist.
You need a lymph node biopsy, by a surgeon, & to see a hematologist, who will look at your blood under the microscope, examine you thoroughly, ask you more about wt loss, fevers, energy level...who did the beta 2 microglobulin on you? That is a tumor marker for lymphoma/myeloma. It isn’t a lymphoma for certain, but we need more info to determine what’s going on.
Good luck!

If you have persistently enlarged lymph nodes, you should see a hematologist or oncologist and consider an excisional lymph node biopsy. A simple fine needle aspiration is frequently insufficient and removing the entire lymph node for study is necessary. The doctors that remove lymph nodes are ENT surgeons or General surgeons, depending on the location of the enlarging, most suspicious lymph node.
I am sorry that you are not feeling well. A healthy person can have beta 2 microglobulin in their blood but your level his elevated ( not diagnostic of an abnormality). Enlarged lymph nodes for three months is unusual and I am not sure that the radiologist on ultrasound can tell they are benign. I would talk to your physician about having a surgeon remove one of the nodes for a diagnosis. If he/she is unwilling to do that I would ask for a referral to a hematologist or medical oncologist for evaluation .
