“Why does my blood sugar increase after exercise?”
I have been maintaining a strict diet and exercise routine. I am a type 2 diabetic and when I test my blood sugar levels, its increased after working out. Why is this?

This is curious since we have been taught that BS decreases after exercise. I suspect what is happening is that with exercise your liver is putting out insulin in response to stimulation from adrenaline or other hormones. This would raise the blood sugar temporarily to insure that there is enough sugar for the brain. Take a snack before exercise & see if this will ease it by keeping enough sugar in the system & not trigger the counter-regulatory hormones.
