“My child feels like they inhaled food into their lung?”
My son is 8 years old. He accidentally swallowed a pasta noodle. Is it possible it went into his lung?

Good morning,
Sorry you have a persistent worry since your toddler enjoyed your pasta. We're you witness to a brief choking spell at the table? If so, the more likely event is that he/she cleared the airway successfully leaving a minor
irritation feeling in the back of the throat. However, if you have observed a consistent attempt to clear the throat or irregularly irregular persistent cough even at night while asleep, then a trip to his MD would be warranted to rule out a particulate inhalation. The possibility exists that a piece could remain lodged in a bronchi.
