My family just received the diagnosis that our 13-year-old son has chronic lung disease. Where do we begin with treatment?

Do they know the cause of the chronic lung disease? Asthma, cystic fibrosis, chronic bronchitis, allergic disease? The treatment will depend on the underlying cause. Most are treated with inhalers and allergy meds.
