Neurosurgeon Questions Numbness in hands

I underwent a brain surgery and now I have numbness in my hands.

I had a brain surgery a little under a year ago. I have been recovering slowly, but I have been recovering all the same. However, right now, I feel a slight numbness in my hands. Could this be because of the surgery? Even a year later?

Hello. I'm glad you are recovering well. If you developed new numbness immediately or a few days after surgery, it is likely the result of surgery. The brain does the have the ability to "heal" or "rewire" and it can take up to 1 to 2 years to be at the maximal recovering potential.
It's not from the surgery. It may be from whatever you had the surgery for, as you didn't include what brain surgery you had or why you had it. It could also be from any number of other things unrelated to your brain. I would bring it up to your doctor if it continues.
