“Is physical therapy helpful in treating tennis elbow?”
My husband has been diagnosed with tennis elbow and it is very painful for him at the moment. Do you think physical therapy will help him heal faster?

Absolutely! PT treatments are proven to be fast and effective in managing Tennis Elbow (Lateral Epicondylitis). Hands on techniques, like mobilization with movement, along with soft tissue mobilization, in conjunction with gentle stretching and targeted strengthening works wonders for this painful tendon irriation.
Physical therapy and Occupational therapy can work wonders for tennis elbow. The biggest thing is making sure to not overwork the area. Adding stretches, gentle movements, and progressing these as the pain decreases can lead to pain reduction.
Yes, the modalities used in physical therapy, special stretches and education on what to avoid can definitely help your husband heal faster
Yes definitely. Let me know if there's a number we can reach you at to get an intake started. We can definitely help him with his tennis elbow.
Most definitely. If you use additional heat modality like ultrasound and nutrition plus good instruction on proper exercises given to the affected muscles
Sure, using ultrasound and electrical stimulation with heat and sometimes using ice will help as well depending on if it's acute or chronic. Also, some gentle stretching.
Tennis elbow, or lateral epicondylitis (medical term), is when the tendons that lift the wrist become irritated. These tendons insert on the outside of the elbow( palm facing forward). It is usually caused by repetitive motion, tight muscles or weakness in the muscle. This condition resolves quite well with physical therapy. A combination of ultrasound (with dexamethasone), laser, and electrical stimulation, exercise, stretching, and corrections to the grip and posture usually reduce inflammation and symptoms and correct the underlying condition.
Hello,
Yes tennis elbow can successfully be treated with physical therapy. It is a common condition that we treat often.

Yes I think P.T. is very helpful for tennis elbow to treat the inflammation and then strengthen the effected tissues. Your therapist can guide him in when to begin certain stretches and strength exercises specific to tennis elbow. Good luck!
