Ear-Nose and Throat Doctor (ENT) Questions Pus boil

I have a pus boil in my ears. Can it become serious?

I have recently noticed a pus boil inside my ears, and it hurts whenever I touch it. What ointment should I put on it? Also, can this boil become serious?

Hello,

You can apply bacitracin ointment. However, if it does not drain, continues to drain non-stop, or continues with pain or change in facial movement, she needs to see an ENT physician.

Yes, this can become serious and you should be seen and placed on antibiotics (by mouth) and possibly have it drained. Meanwhile, warm compresses can help. Antibiotic ointment will not likely be of benefit until it is opened.
This is likely a small skin abscess similar to a pimple. I would recommend warm compresses to the region. An antibiotic ointment over the area can also be beneficial. If you have underlying health issues, seek the evaluation of a physician immediately. If the situation worsens with increasing tenderness, redness, or any drainage from the region, seek the care of physician. The infection sometimes requires antibiotics. Additionally, in situation where progresses, an incision and drainage may be necessary by a qualified physician.
See an ENT doctor for treatment.
Apply hot moist compresses. Bactroban is good topical antibiotic. D/C Q-tip usage in ears
