Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon Questions Root Canal

After a root canal are there chances of an infection in the jaw?

I underwent a root canal for my molar tooth at the back. However now I am having pain in my jawline. Could it be an infection that has occurred after my treatment?

Infection is a possibility. Return to the dentist who performed the procedure and have it checked out.
Yes. The root canal gets rid of the infection INSIDE the tooth, but there is still typically infection in the bone that needs to resolve. Occasionally, this can continue in spite of the root canal. You should return to the provider that did the root canal for them to evaluate.
infection is possible; you need to return to your doctor who did the root canal treatment for evaluation...
There is a possibility. If the pain does not get better or starts to get worse and swells then you will need an antibiotic and follow up with your Root Canal Dr.
