Should I take my child to the hospital after having chest pain?

My child is 3 years old and said he had chest pain. Should I take my child to the hospital after having chest pain?

Call her pmd and make an appointment. The reasons for chest pain are very different in kids than adults.

Yes. Even though chest pain is only a general symptom, it could be nothing or a serious condition. Not necessarily associated to the heart.
It is very unlikely it is cardiac. I would call your primary care provider and have him evaluated there. If there are concerns from your primary doctor I would see a pediatric cardiologist. That would be an outpatient visit. You would not likely be able to see a pediatric cardiologist in the ER.
Coronary pathology is extremely unlikely in a child at the age of three. There could be other causes which are noncardiac in origin for the child to have chest pains. It would be advised to follow up with the child's pediatrician as an outpatient instant of presenting the hospital.
