Should I take calcium supplements at the age of 35 to prevent osteoporosis?

I have been thinking about starting calcium supplements. I'm now 35. Will it help in preventing osteoporosis or is it too late?

Never too late. Calcium, vitamin D, sunlight and cardiovascular exercise will help to prevent it.
Taking calcium supplements always helps but mostly checking your vitamin D level which keeps that calcium in your body is essential. If deficient you have to replenish your vitamin D with supplements
You don't need calcium supplements if you are eating a normal healthy diet. Exercise is the best way to prevent osteoporosis at your age. If you're concerned or have a positive family history a bone density test will establish if you have osteoporosis.
Yes. Calcium citrate 600 mg x3/day and VitD3 5000u/day
Yes, it is not too late. 1500 units per day maximum.
You don't want to take excessive calcium. Exercising and having a well-balanced diet is the best.
It is better to start calcium supplementation while in your teens. But you should be taking at least 600 mg of calcium daily along with dairy products and 1000-2000 IU of Vitamin D3 daily. It can never guarantee that you will not get osteoporosis, that is mostly based on genetics and menopause. Weight bearing exercises and resistance training can also help.
