“Should I stay away from physical activity after wisdom tooth extraction?”
I know I need my wisdom teeth removed because I'm in so much pain. They broke through too, since I see them in the back. But the thing is, I heard that after an extraction, it's recommended to "take it easy". However, I'm currently in academy and training to be a police officer, and this obviously isn't possible. If I get my wisdom teeth removed, do I really need to stay away from exercise? Should I wait after I'm done with academy?

It is recommended to avoid vigorous physical activity or anything that really gets the blood pumping for 48 hours following extraction. This allows the blood clots to become established and maintain a presence over the bone. This is done to prevent dry sockets. Although not required, it is highly recommended due to the fact dry sockets are incredibly painful and may lead to more down time required in the long run. Good luck.
