Physical Therapist Questions Hip Pain

I am suffering from hip pain during pregnancy. Will it last forever?

I am suffering from an extreme pain in my hips. I am five months pregnant, and this pain happened quite suddenly. Is this a common pregnancy symptom that will go away, or will it actually last even after my delivery? If so, what is the best option to fix it?

Depending on where your pain is in the hip this could be what is known as sciatica. This is a fairly common symptoms during pregnancy due to weakened core muscles and increased fluid volume. Most of the time this pain does go away after delivery. However there are things you can do to treat this even while pregnant. Contact a physical therapist near you to an evaluation.
Most females feel the same way due to pregnancy hormones and the pressure over the pelvic area, and also the way you walk, put pressure and strain on your muscles, but in most cases, it disappears gradually after having the baby. But you might need some exercises to strengthen your abdomen, back, hips, and pelvic floor muscles.
Seeing a physical therapist is your best option. Due to hormonal changes and increases in laxity, it may last for a short while after you give birth. A PT is best suited to give you what you need in order to address this properly.
A PT consult can help in managing your pregnancy pain. It will ease in 4 months but may not go away completely. I would recommend seeing your local PT.
