“My daughter has tried to commit suicide twice. Can a counselor help us?”
My daughter has tried to commit suicide twice in our house. She won't talk to us at all about why she is so depressed, and we want to help her the best way we can. Can a counselor help us? We are very worried and don’t know where else to go.

Absolutely! Your daughter needs to find someone "safe" to talk to and an adult that she can depend on to listen to her - without being judgemental - that would be a counselor. Find one who works with suicidal young as well and do this as soon as possible. Also don't question her about the sessions, but driving her to and from is a good idea so that you can be available if necessary for counselor consultation. This would be a "start".
