When there is pain and injury it is best to have your toe looked at.

Sometimes you can cause enough trauma to the nail causing bleeding under the nail. If painful it should be evaluated and treated.
I am assuming you mean your toenail is loose NOT your toe.

Toe injury can be with or without a fractured bone.
A bruised nail can sometimes hurt for a while after injury. I always recommend following up with a physician for any concerns!

concerned yes, Which toe is injured. I would recommend an X-Ray to evaluate. either way I would Buddy splint to adjacent toe(s)
If your toe is loose, that could be a problem. You may have a broken toe. If its your toenail that's loose, then that isn't a problem. It's common to get blood underneath your toenail when you injure your toe. That causes the nail to loosen from the nail bed. I would cut any part of the nail not attached to the nail bed. If it continues to be a problem, then I would follow up with your local podiatrist.
Stubbing a toe can cause damage to the bone and the toenail. Toenail could be loose in this could be due to the injury. There is a possibility that there is some bone injury as well. I would recommend an x-ray toe evaluate the injury. Jonathan M. Kletz, DPM Texas Foot WorksDallas, Athens and Gun Barrel City Texas214-340-8885
