Plastic Surgeon Questions Scars

What are the best ways in which I can remove accident scars from my face?

I met with an accident six months back and although the wounds from the face have healed, it has left a lot of scars. Apart from the stitches there are also other marks. What is the best way to have these accident scars removed from my face?

Hello, it depends on the degree of scarring. However, Morpheus seems to help a lot. You can also visit my website at DrRoya.com for further information and assistance. Good luck to you!
Scar revision involves removing the old scar and making a fresh new one with careful plastic surgery stitching. You will still have a scar, but our techniques can generally improve the appearance of the scar and make it less perceptible.
Thank you for your question. With regards to the inquiry, the first thing to do is evaluate the scars. Second, the time since the accident is very important. Scars take time to “mature.” Then, they will become pale and barely noticeable, if they are flat and linear. The type of closure is very important, too. Some will require to be excised and closed in a different manner. Microdermabrassion, laser, and other techniques may help. First and foremost, the scars need to be evaluated by a facial cosmetic surgeon.
Thank you for the question.
While it is not possible to remove scars, it may be able to lessen their visibility by various surgical and non-surgical means. It depends on whether the visibility of the scars are due to color, width, firmness, or contour relative to surrounding skin.

Fraxel laser combined with injection of steroids has been the most successful treatment for scars.
Thank you for your question. An in-person consultation would be best to evaluate your skin. With that being said there are many techniques to help with scars, from Scar Revision Surgery, Micro-needling, Microdermabrasion, Lasers. There are many Skin Care products containing such ingredients as Kojic Acid and Hydroquinone to fade scars and hyperpigmentation. I would suggest you seek a consultation with a plastic surgeon, dermatologist, or medical esthetician to be given all of your options. Best of luck to you.
Scar revision, dermabrasion, and LASER treatments are the most effective treatment methods used. Be sure your scars are ready for any treatment before you move forward. Creams, steroids, sun blockers all have a place in scar improvement. Be sure to select a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon before you choose any treatment.
