I am a 29 year old male and I will have a surgery using nerve block. What are the advantages of nerve block injections?

There is no advantage for nerve block over general unless there is issue make general is a problematic. But the bottom line, any local can be changed into general for many reasons.
A nerve block helps with the post-op pain control, as you will not have pain after the procedure.
Great pain control, lack of general anesthetic with gas and a breathing tube and subsequent nausea/grogginess/sore throat.
Advantages are you won't need entubation, and will be with longer analgesia.
