I'm 38, and I'm going to need surgery for my abdominal wall under general anesthesia. Are there any side effects of general anesthesia?

You may die
Most common side effects are nausea and vomiting, dizziness, headache, weakness, and drowsiness.
Most common are sore throat and nausea. You’ll be a bit groggy from the whole experience as well.
There are an endless list of side effects, but a short list follows: nausea, vomiting, sore throat, damage to teeth & gums, and headache. The anesthesia consent that you will sign before undergoing anesthesia should give you a better listing of all the potential side effects and complications. But do not let that scare you. If you are in good health, general anesthesia is incredibly safe nowadays.
