“What are the treatment options for bladder cancer?”
I'm 48 years old and I recently was diagnosed with stage II bladder cancer. What are the treatment options for bladder cancer?

At least 4 options for treatments:
Number 1: a combined chemotherapy and radiation.
Number 2: surgery followed by chemo with or without radiation therapy.
Number 3: a combined radiation therapy with surgery either prepping or post-operative.
Number 4: a combination of all three treatments, surgery, chemotherapy and radiation.
Discuss with your doctor and ask why your doctor chose that approach for you.

The first evaluation I recommend is to see your gynecologist. Let them evaluate you and send you for appropriate testing mammogram and sonogram and needle biopsy if indicated. Most breast tumors are benign, however, you need to get this checked by your doctor now.
Best of luck!!!

If the cancer is not invasive into the muscle of the bladder, local resection is treatment. If there is muscle invasion, complete or radical removal of the bladder may be necessary.
