Hi, the answer is, "it depends", it depends on the cause of the chronic foot pain. The root cause determines what can be done for it. The other determining factor the extend of the condition. So please consult a local podiatrist for the answers you are seeking.
Are you drinking enough water? Chronic dehydration is one of the most common cause of aches and pain in the body. Try drinking plenty of water.
Chronic foot pain can be due to arthritis, tendinitis, fractures, gout, spurs, plantar fasciitis, and diabetic foot. We must find out the cause before I advise. Temporarily, warm and cold compresses can help. See a doctor to ascertain the cause.
I would recommend seeing a podiatrist because this could be arthritis, a tendon inflammation or ligament injury that could just be lingering and could potentially have a treatment option for. If it is your foot in general certain shoes and even custom orthotics could be an option for you as well. I do a 3D scan of the foot to get the best custom orthotic for people.
Go to a podiatrist to find out what condition you may have. If you are obese, you better lose weight.
I recommend you make an appointment to see your primary care physician or a podiatrist (foot/ankle doctor).
This will progress if left untreated. There are multiple conservative options that work very well. Please, make an appointment with me in my Chandler office (480) 269-7130 and I will go over all of your options. Depending on Xrays (if needed) that I can take at my office and the clinical exam, I am able to diagnose and recommend different treatment options. I recommend you have this checked as soon as you can, especially since I can usually treat this without surgery very well in just one visit with me. My office is located on Dobson road, just north of Chandler Regional Hospital. Advanced Foot & Ankle Specialists of Arizona. Feel free to ask to be seen by me specifically and I will get you in the same day or latest the next day. I take all insurances, please do not go off of the insurance list on this website as it is not updated yet. Mention that I have talked to you on the internet. I can also do the entire visit with you over the phone or video call as well, which most insurances cover, even if you are out of state and my staff can verify this for you when you schedule. Thank you and have a good evening.
There are 28 bones and over 50 joints in the foot and ankle. There are multiple tendons, ligaments, and nerves. There are too many structures to give you a fair analysis of your foot pain without an examination or further, more detailed information.
Considerable work has been done using cannabis for the treatment of chronic pain. If this is legal in your area, you might wish to discuss this option with your doctor.
Chronic foot pain can have multiple causes. I recommend you make an appointment with a foot and ankle surgeon (podiatrist) for a diagnosis and the appropriate treatment plan
