“What can I expect from carotid doppler?”
I'm 47 years old and I'm going to have a carotid doppler ultrasound next week. I'm aware that it's an ultrasound, but is it going to be painful? What can I expect from it?

Not at all, they place medical gel at the carotid site at the side of your neck and a small US probe is used. You will hear some sound depicting the flow of blood within the artery. It should take about 10 minutes

No pain is involved. No IV needed as well. A little jelly on your neck and an ultrasound probe looks at your vessel's anatomy.
