What causes dry skin on elbows and knees?

I am a 32 year old female. I have dry skin on my elbows and knees. What could be the cause?

Dry skin on your elbows and knees can happen for a few reasons:

Lack of Moisture: These areas often get dry because the skin there is thicker and can lose moisture easily.
Friction: Rubbing your elbows or knees, like leaning on them, can cause dryness.
Hot Showers: Taking very hot showers can dry out your skin.
Skin Conditions: Conditions like eczema can cause dry patches, especially on elbows and knees.
Not Drinking Enough Water: Dehydration can make your skin dry.
Harsh Soaps: Strong soaps can strip moisture from your skin.
To help, keep your skin moisturized and try to avoid harsh products. If the dryness doesn’t go away, it’s good to check with a doctor.

This should be seen by your dermatologist. It could be psoriasis or eczema.
