Pediatric Ophthalmologist Questions Sensitivity to Light

What causes eye sensitivity to light in children?

My 10-year-old son is very sensitive to light. In fact, he always squints while outside from the sun. What's causing this sensitivity? Is this serious enough to go to the doctor?

This could possibly be serious and he should see an ophthalmologist
Does he suffer migraine headaches? Is he very light eyed in color? He may have an ocular misalignment. In Europe, this is called "squint" because of the frequent squinting in bright light.
There is no harm in bringing him to an Ophthalmologist for a look.
