“What causes fluid in the elbow?”
I'm 50, and my elbow seems to be full of fluid. It's swelling. What causes fluid in the elbow?

It might be fluid in the joint caused by inflammation or injury, or it might be fluid in the bursa at the back of the elbow caused by leaning.
Most common reason for swelling in posterior (back) of elbow is olecranon bursitis. Occurs from leaning on, excessive motion and sometimes fibrous tissue in bursa. Can be relieve by eliminating causes if possible, aspiration with steroid injection and in some cases surgical removal. Good luck.
