“What causes ringworm?”
I have been diagnosed with ringworm and don't even know how I got it in the first place. What causes ringworm?

It’s a fungal skin infection.
Ringworm is the common name for infections caused by various fungi. Athletes foot is caused by the same type of fungus. Ringworm is an infection it is acquired from other people who have the infection or for inanimate objects like gym floors, exercise equipment, shower floors etc.
