“What causes urine to smell like garlic?”
I'm a mother of an 8-year-old girl, and I've noticed that after she uses the bathroom it usually smells like garlic. I assume it's from her urine. What causes urine to smell like garlic?

The most common cause of foul smelling urine is an infection. Your doctor can run some tests with the Irvine sample and can get a culture.

Is she eating garlic in her diet? Sometimes foods can make the urine smell. If she has fever or signs of infection she would need to be seen for a UA and culture. She does need to drink more water
