Eating a certain food is not a treatment for acid reflux. Reducing acid in the stomach by medications, or blocking the acid from coming up (by doing surgery) are the best ways to control it. Generally speaking, avoiding caffeine, chocolate, peppermint, and large fatty meals will help reduce acid reflux.
Avoid coffee, spicy and oily foods. Peppermint or mint flavored food also exacerbate GERD. yogurt may help with your symptoms
It is more about what foods and food combinations are you eating that cause acid re flux! Acid is caused by either too much food or a combination of foods that don't belong together. Try keeping your concentrated carbohydrates separate from your proteins. In other words if you are eating pasta do NOT add meat. Add only vegetables and a health fat like olive oil. If you are eating meat do NOT add pasta, rice or potatoes with to that meal. Add only vegetables. Eat fruit alone or with nuts. Unless a citrus fruit like orange, lemon, lime, pineapple or tomato - eat those with meat or alone.
