I am a 38 year old male. I want to know what happens if a torn meniscus is not treated?

You need to consult both a chiropractor and orthopedic surgeon for this issue. Depending on how long you have had this diagnosis, Chiropractic may not be able to address and/or correct this issue.
Most small tears heal on their own if not reinjured and get good therapy. However, don't assume. Get an MRI and a couple of opinions, surgical and non-surgical.

Best case scenario it slowly becomes less painful and doesn't bother you for many years. Worst case, it gets worse and eventually needs surgery or full knee replacement due to arthritis.
This is a misunderstanding about the term healed. The tear doesn't heal back to a usable functioning entity unless it is put into apposition (surgical). Otherwise it heals and becomes a frayed end and has no functional use. However you can have less than full tears that can still function.
