“What happens when you're allergic to anesthesia?”
My son needs to have a surgery soon under general anesthesia, but we aren't sure if he's allergic or anything to the anesthetic. What happens when a patient is allergic to anesthesia?

There is no way to know if you are allergic to anesthesia unless you are exposed to it. If there are allergies to some foods or drugs, you should tell it. Latex is a form of common allergy. In anesthesia, patients allergic to rubber can't be exposed to it. What we do is to pre-medicate with steroid and antihistaminic in case of doubt. And avoid latex exposure.
