Urologist (Pediatric) Questions Burning Urine

What is the cause of painful urination in kids?

My 10-year-old son has been having some trouble urinating. It takes him a long time to pee, and when he does, he has a burning sensation. What could be causing this?

Please consult a pediatric urologist. Meatal stenosis should definetely be considered although there can be other causes.
Prolonged urination plus burning sensation can be caused by phimosis (tight foreskin) if uncircumcised. Otherwise could be due to a urethral stricture. Should be checked out. It will not take care of itself.
