What is the main cause of asthma?

My daughter is 9 years old and she was diagnosed with asthma. What is the cause of asthma?

Genetic
Asthma tends to runs in the family. And it has 3 components: bronchospasm, inflammation, and airway hypersensitivity. The common causes for asthma:

1- family history of asthma
2- allergies can triggers asthma
3- being sick with viral illness or cold symptoms can triggers asthma
4- changes in weather can triggers asthma
5- exercise can induce asthma
6- being sick with certain viruses like RSV as a child can lingering to asthma
7- premature babies with chronic lung disease can lead to asthma
8- other causes
The exact cause of asthma is unknown. However, it can be inherited so if there are family members with asthma then your child can develop asthma. Also seasonal allergies and environmental factors can trigger asthma.
Asthma is reactive airways that is reversible by bronchodilators. It can be inherited or allergic. Having RSV as a baby can make you have asthma later on.
