The most common prescribed mouthwash is Peridex (Chlorhexidine Gluconate 0.12), twice/day for 7 days/month. There are other products that may have the same results, I am not sure if I can list them on this platform.
Peridex oral rinse.
Your dentist will be able to give you a prescription mouthrinse. Chlorohexadine works well for 2 weeks. It may cause staining of the teeth with prolong use.
Chlorexidine bases mouth rinse are the best for periodontal disease. They however, will stain your teeth. A good mouthrinse is Peroxyl, peroxide based, It give good results but not indicated if you a smoker. Hope was helpful
Hi,

Listerine or Peridex (by prescription only).
The best mouthwash for periodontal disease is Peridex. Must be prescribed by your dentist and is for a limited time use.

In my opinion the best mouth rinse for people with periodontitis or a active gum disease is chlorhexidine 0.12 rinse. This is available with a prescription not over the counter.
