I am a 24 year old male and I have conjunctivitis. What is the main cause of conjunctivitis?

Adenovirus

Conjunctivitis is commonly caused by infections (viral or bacterial), allergies, and dry eyes.
Conjunctivitis is just a broad term for inflammation of the conjunctiva. The inflammation can be caused by a virus, bacteria, allergy, trauma, fungus, etc. There are many causes but only way to know how to treat the conjunctivitis is to see an optometrist or OMD for diagnosis.
