“What is the normal range for varicella-zoster virus?”
I am a 20-year-old female. I want to know what is the normal range for the varicella-zoster virus?

Results showing 0.90 IRS or less is negative. Meaning that there is no significant level of detectable varicella-zoster virus (IgM) antibody. 0.91 to 1.09 ISR = Equivocal. In this case of equivocal value, a repeat testing in 10-14 days is recommended. 1.10 IRS or greater is positive. Thank you
I don't believe there is such a thing. Either you have not been exposed, are actively exposed or have prior exposure. If you have the active disease, you will have IgM antibodies for VZV in your serum. If you have been exposed, you have IgG antibodies for VZV in your serum. If you get reactivated, like develop shingles, I believe you would have both antibodies, but I am not certain about that. Reactivation is usually diagnosed by the rash and not testing antibodies for VZV. At this point in your life, don't worry about VZV unless you have physical symptoms.
