Hematologist-Oncologist Questions Lymphoma

What is the treatment for lymphoma?

My aunt was diagnosed with lymphoma last week, and she's going to discuss her options this Friday. What is the usual treatment for lymphoma? She's diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins, not sure about the stage.

It depends on the type of lymphoma and the stage. Chemotherapy and radiotherapy are the two treatment modalities
There is no universal answer to this question. Therapy depends on the type of lymphoma, its stage, and the functional state of the person and any comorbidities that the patient may have. It is difficult to be more specific in the absence of more information.
Hello,

The treatment of lymphoma can be somewhat complicated. Decisions are based on the type of cell seen on the biopsy and the stage. The more advanced the tumor, the higher the stage. My recommendation would be to talk to your doctor and find out the characteristics of the tumor and the treatment recommendations. Often chemotherapy is recommended. Then I would consult the treatment guidelines in the website of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN.ORG). They are open to all computer users. If your doctor hasn’t answered all your questions I would obtain a second at a large cancer center.
