What's the difference between DDS and DMD?

I'm looking up dentists to go to, since I would really like to switch, but I'm noticing two different titles that these dentists have: DDS and DMD. What is the difference between the two?

There is no difference between the two. It is just the title that they give you based off of the school you went to.
Absolutely none. Different schools, but all the same.
There is really no difference. The degree is based on the dental school which the doctor graduated from. The training is likely very similar.
