“My son's skin begins to itch because of sun exposure. What could be the reason for this?”
Whenever my son plays in the sun for long hours, his skin turns red and begins to itch. What could be the reason for this and what is the remedy to treat this?

There are multiple possibilities for your son's symptoms, such as heat rash, hives, or a sensitivity to the sun (photosensitivity). It would be best to have your son evaluated by a board-certified dermatologist who can take a full history and examine his skin. If possible, take your son to the doctor when the rash is present. Some offices have same-day appointments, so call a nearby dermatology clinic where they will be able to see him when his rash is active.
He may have a light induce skin disease like Polymorphous Light Eruption or just Sun induce Pruritus. Would need to see patient.
