“What's wrong with my neck?”
I'm a 41-year-old male, and I find that my neck has been very stiff lately. Every time I turn my neck, it hurts. This could be from how I sleep or my posture. What should I do for this?

If you're experiencing a stiff and painful neck, it is likely due to your sleeping position or poor posture. Here's what you can do:
1. Adjust your sleeping position: Use a supportive pillow that keeps your neck aligned with your spine. Avoid sleeping on your stomach as it strains the neck.
2. Improve your posture: Be mindful of your posture throughout the day. Sit and stand up straight, keeping your neck and shoulders relaxed. Consider ergonomic adjustments to your workspace.
If your symptoms persist or worsen, it's essential to consult a healthcare professional for a thorough evaluation and personalized advice.

It could be either of those things that may be causing it. Physical therapy would help you to educate you on a home exercise program to stretch and strengthen the structures around your problem area.
It is very hard to determine the root of the problem without a thorough exam. Generally, the most common neck pain symptom can be relieved by stretching, strengthening exercises along with gentle chiropractic manipulations to allow proper function of the joints within the neck and restore your normal range of motion.
