Why are some children born with cancer?

I have a niece with lymphoma, and I was wondering what cause cancer to develop in children. Even with excellent prenatal care.

Cancer is due to mutations in genes that lead to uncontrolled cell growth and eventually cancer. Most cancers in children and newborn are of random mutations (changes) in the genes of growing cells. We don’t know the cause of childhood cancers or hoe to prevent those cancers. The most common cancer in children are leukemias, brain and central nervous system (CNS) tumors, and lymphomas. Thank you.
Most cancers are sporadic. Also, children from IVF have an increased risk for cancers.
There is ongoing research to determine causes of childhood cancer, but there is a lot of unknowns. There are some mutations associated with childhood cancers, but more research is needed.
Most children do not have caner at birth. It usually comes later. Some children have a genetic tendency for cancer and along with triggers such as viruses the cancer can start. Some children are born with immune problems that prevent them from getting rid of caner cells which allows them the multiply and caner start.
