Why can't my son sleep after anesthesia?

My doctor said my 14 year old son can't sleep after anesthesia. Why can't my son sleep after anesthesia?

General anesthetics could be disturbing in very old and in very young. Agitation, panic, and nightmares could occur, but will be fine in some days. Consult a pediatrician if they persist more than 24 hours.
