“Why do I feel pregnant but the test is negative?”
I am a 29 year old female. I feel pregnant but the test is negative. What could be the cause?

If your menstrual cycle date is a little delayed, then you start having breast tenderness/sensitivity and bloating. At times, people can even have nausea, all due to hormonal changes, but the pregnancy test is negative. All of these are also signs of early pregnancy. However, occasionally urine pregnancy test may be false negative. A blood test would be confirmatory.
Hello and thank you for your question.
It could be anything from symptoms caused by some other issue to a rare medical condition where women think they’re pregnant and actually exhibit symptoms of pregnancy, but are not pregnant. Stress could also cause some of the symptoms of pregnancy even in the wake of a negative pregnancy test. Deep breathing and meditation as well as yoga can help you re-center and can be a way to help de stress if stress is a factor in your life. A blood test for pregnancy is more sensitive than a urine test, so if think you’re pregnant you could have a blood test performed to determine your pregnancy status.
Hope this helps. Good luck in your journey.

Have you missed your menses? What symptoms do you have? You would do well to have a Gyn consultation and exam for further clarity.

There are many things that can mimic early pregnancy symptoms (which usually include breast tenderness, fatigue and nausea). If the urine test is negative, it is usually accurate, but if your cycle is irregular, it would be important to have further investigation with your OBGYN to figure out why your cycle is late and you have a negative urine pregnancy test. If the tests end up being correct that you are not pregnant, you should discuss your symptoms with your doctor so that she/he can help you start an evaluation.
