Why do I have dark spaces between my teeth?

I am a 22 year old male. I want to know why do I have dark spaces between my teeth?

The dark spaces are caused by a receding gums. The gums used to fill those spaces but because of damage to the gums from gingivitis or gum disease or loss of bone around the teeth causes the black triangles
It could be decay. Have it evaluated by a dentist.
