OB-GYN (Obstetrician-Gynecologist) Questions Swollen fallopian tubes

Why do fallopian tubes swell?

I had an exam with my OB-GYN and she told me that my fallopian tubes are swollen. She prescribed a medication I can take for now, but I still don't understand how my fallopian tubes became swollen. What can be the cause?

Swollen/edematous fallopios may be caused by infections. That could lead to Pelvic Inflammatory disease (PID). Treatments with antibiotics is recommended in certain cases.
Chronic inflammation or pelvic inflammatory disease or a blockage. Any of those can cause the tubes to be swollen.
