“Why do toothaches hurt more at night?”
I have a very bad toothache in the back of my mouth. It hurts really bad, especially at night. Why do toothaches hurt more at night?

Very often, when you are lying down, the blood pools more in the head area and could cause a toothache to increase.
It's likely you tooth nerve is dying or already dead. You need to get into a dentist ASAP. Left untreated, this can turn into a serious infection (even life-threatening).
Hello,
It could be worse because the blood pressure in your head increases when you lay back. So, sitting in a recliner to sleep or elevating your head could help.
